Beth took a number of photos of the journey from Punta Arenas to Patriot Hills and of them practicing just before they set off.  One of the ALE guys was then able to take the camera flash card back to Chile and post it to the UK.

The Photos below are mainly those sent by Correne using her Contact 4.0 Expedition Software provided by Human Edge Technologies.  The software allows digital photos to be added to a PDA compressed and then sent live via a satellite phone back to the HumanEdgeTech explorers web system together with text updates.  The photos are therefore courtesy of both the Human Edge Technologies publishing system and Correne.  The pictures can aslo be viewed on Correne's website.

The team went to the airport ready to go wearing their expedition clothes. Unfortunately the weather deteriorated and the flight was called off.

The big supermarket shop

Beth, Denise and Correne headed out to a local hypermarket to buy provisions for the expedition

Back at the expedition headquarters everything had to be divided up into daily portions and the packaging removed - a full days work

Food was then packaged into colour coded bags ready for the flight. This is the food for the first leg of the journey all ready to go.
